Dear church family,
Brenda and I were watching four of our grandchildren for a morning this week. We like to read a brief passage of scripture together when we are blessed to have our grandchildren with us. The passage we read was as follows: Philippians 4:4-7: “4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. “
This sure seems like a good week to have our focus on Christ Vs the Coronavirus. “Rejoicing in Christ” is such a spiritual healthy undertaking. Our young people need to be encouraged to look to Christ, to focus on Christ and to delight in Christ. The threat of the Coronavirus is real and in one short week has brought the world down a peg or two.
My prayer for you is your prayer life and your peace will be greatly enhanced as the world around us gives way to panic. And why do they shudder with fear? They need to come to trust in Christ. The Coronavirus is an opportunity to take Christ to others. May your heart be filled with peace as you embrace the precious purpose of making disciples. Hope to see everyone on this Sunday as we worship the God of the Heavens and His Son, Jesus Christ.
